Interior upholstery for boat renovation

Interior upholstery for boat renovation

Over time, mattresses, benches and curtains lose their comfort, hold and aesthetic appeal. Thanks to our original templates, we can faithfully reproduce each piece to restore the boat's original layout, while respecting existing shapes and volumes.

  • Reproduction of cabin mattresses and benches, headboards and bed towers, solar protection or blackout curtains, etc.
  • Original comfort preserved: same dimensions, same shape
  • Replacement of foams if required, with equivalent or modified density according to your needs
  • Original fabrics to match the boat's age, or a choice of current or custom fabrics to suit the interior environment.
  • Original seams and finishes

No modifications, no rigging: a reliable, efficient replacement with no surprises.

Outdoor upholstery for boat renovation

Outdoor upholstery for boat renovation

Exposed to the sun, sea spray and bad weather, a boat's exterior upholstery is put to a severe test. Thanks to our database of manufacturer's templates, we can produce exterior upholstery identical to the original, replacing only what is necessary.

  • Reproduction of external cockpit cushions, sundecks, helm seats, etc.
  • Original comfort preserved: same dimensions, same shape
  • Replacement of foams if required, with equivalent or modified density according to your needs in our range of external technical foam (Dryfeel)
  • Original fabrics to match the boat's age, or a choice of current or custom fabrics to suit the interior environment.
  • Original seams and finishes

Renovation is carried out according to the rules of the trade, without any intervention on board.

A wide range of manufacturer templates at your service

Our advantage: thanks to our in-house design office and 3D modelling, we have built up a unique heritage of several thousand upholstery templates, the result of many years of collaboration with French and European boatyards. This database enables us to faithfully reproduce the original upholstery, without the need for on-site measurements or adjustments.

We have the templates for many well-known brands: Dufour, Fountaine Pajot, Bénéteau, Lagoon, Excess, J Composites, Alubat, Privilège, Amel and many others. This expertise enables us to guarantee fast, accurate reproduction of upholstery components, with dimensions and shapes perfectly respected.

The Ruchaud advantage :

  • Immediate access to the gauges of a large number of models (sailboats, catamarans, houseboats, motorboats, etc.)
  • Reproduction in the original shape and dimensions
  • Compatibility with existing structures on board
  • Optimised production lead times thanks to manufacture without cutting to size
  • You can modernise the look by choosing the fabric (type of cover, colour) or the density of the foam.

Our expertise guarantees you a faithful renovation with no compromise on precision.

Technical solutions selected for life at sea

At Ruchaud, the quality of our upholstery depends above all on the rigorous choice of materials. Because the marine environment imposes specific constraints (salt, humidity, UV, heat, mould), we select the best-performing foams and fabrics on the market, tested and adapted to intensive nautical use.

Technical foams for nautical upholstery

We work with several types of high-performance marine foams, adapted to the specific constraints of sailing:

  • Polyether or high resilience (HR) foams are perfect for interior upholstery, offering long-lasting comfort with different densities depending on use (mattress, seat, backrest...).
  • Dryfeel® outdoor foams specially designed for outdoor use, they provide excellent ventilation, optimal drainage and quick drying, limiting the risk of damp and mould.
  • Closed-cell foams they do not retain water and are suitable for certain specific uses.
  • Eco-responsible foams made from recycled or natural materials, designed with a reduced environmental impact, without compromising on durability and comfort.

Each upholstery has been designed with a personalised choice of foam, depending on its position on board, the frequency of use and the level of comfort expected.

High-performance marine fabrics

At Ruchaud, each fabric is carefully selected to meet the specific requirements of the marine environment. We buy directly from manufacturers and regularly attend textile trade fairs. This active monitoring is supported by a dedicated purchasing department, in liaison with our design office.

We have an extensive weaving library with a wide range of textile references adapted to sailing: technical textiles, marine PVC, vinyls, imitation leather, real leather... with many grained, smooth, woven or textile-look finishes.

Thanks to our partnerships with the leading brands in the sector (Sunbrella, Serge Ferrari, Spradling...), we have access to their latest innovations: water-repellent, breathable fabrics that are resistant to UV rays, mould and wear.

Our sourcing also incorporates a responsible approach, with an increasing selection of recycled, certified or low environmental impact materials, without compromising on performance or aesthetics.

With Ruchaud, you benefit from a wide choice of textures, colours and finishes, for technical, durable and environmentally-friendly sailboat upholstery.

Expert finishes

Because every detail counts, we pay particular attention to finishes and accessories:

  • Reinforced seams with threads adapted to the marine environment
  • Double or single topstitching, quilting
  • Salt-resistant YKK® fasteners
  • Marine plywood or rot-proof HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) sheet if structure required
  • Stainless steel or plastic marine fasteners depending on use
  • Covers may or may not be removable, depending on on-board configuration

Our rigorous choice of materials guarantees comfortable, durable and easy-to-maintain upholstery, designed to cope with the most demanding sailing conditions.
